Marie Castevelli appointed new managing director of Cortefiel and Pedro del Hierro

Spanish brands Cortefiel and Pedro del Hierro are set to welcome a new managing director. Current American Eagle Outfitters president for Europe Marie Castellvi- Dépée is joining the company in coming days.

According to Cortefiel, she will lead both companies and her signing will strengthen the organizational structure of the group, which has been in the process of transforming itself since the arrival of Jaume Miquel as CEO.

Castevelli will take over from Miquel, who oversaw the direction of the companies after the departure of Ramon Gago last year. In the past few months, Cortefiel has carried out several closures of underperforming stores.

Cortefiel reduced revenue by 0.97% in financial year 2015/16 and has been trying to change its image by expanding the presence of Pedro del Hierro in Cortefiel stores.

The group has more than 2,000 stores globally. It has a presence in 89 countries through its five retail chains Cortefiel, Pedro del Hierro, Springfield, Women’secret and Fifty Factory.
