Finnish design house Marimekko launched this week a special Tasaraita jersey collection in partnership with Equality Now, an organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the human rights of women and girls around the world.

The new Tasaraita collection is an update to the company's first collection that was designed by Annika Rimala in 1968. The Tasaraita collection is a symbol of equality between people featuring even stripes on long sleeve shirts, ¾ length sleeve shirts and dresses. The spring 2017 update consists of five styles in various colors and fabrics with one style, the Ilma Shirt, featuring a new fit.

Through the end of February 2017, Marimekko stores in North America and the Marimekko website will donate $10 for each Tasaraita garment sold to Equality Now. The organization was founded in 1992 to spread awareness and support local groups that fight sexual violence, trafficking of women, female genital mutilation and discrimination of law.

Marimekko was founded in 1951 and was first introduced to the US market by the late Jacqueline Kennedy. The company launched a collaboration collection with Target in 2016 as part of the retailer’s spring designer collaboration series.

The Marimekko Tarsaraita 2017 collection ranges in price from $95 to $265.
