Massy Arias and Shelina Moreda are the new faces of CoverGirl

The makeup brand makes a sportier choice with its newest spokespeople. Shelina Moreda and Massy Arias recently signed the brand, joining other new faces Issa Rae and Ayesha Curry.

CoverGirl has turned away from the usual model and actress spokesperson route with many of its recent appointments. The budget beauty brand puts fitness front and center with motorcycle road racer Shelina Moreda and fitness trainer Massy Arias.

Moreda says she has always enjoyed playing with makeup and hopes her appointment will help others see that beauty and sports are not mutually exclusive. “The only thing you can see are my eyes peering out of the helmet, so that's the part I especially love to play up. My partnership with Covergirl shows the world that it's okay to have an active, yet powerful career and still value feeling pretty,” the motorcycle racer said in a statement.

Arias also echoed sentiments. “Covergirl’s belief that you can wear makeup when, where and however you want is really about personal transformation—just like fitness," she said in a statement.

Both of the new spokespeople took to Instagram to announce the news. Arias, who has more than 2 million followers on the platform, is also a spokesperson for Target’s C9 brand.
