Michael Andrews, the 10-year-old New York-based bespoke clothier, on Thursday named Charles Dean its first Creative Director.
Dean, who began his career at Ralph Lauren, will oversee the design direction of Michael Andrews’s bespoke business and its first collection, which is scheduled to debut in September. After working at Ralph Lauren, Dean launched his eponymous label.
The upcoming Michael Andrews collection will consist of suits, shirts, separates, formalwear, overcoats and accessories that are inspired by timeless elegance and bespoke tailoring. The garments used in the collection will be available on made-to-order and each product will feature the same hand-tailored, bench-made construction found in the bespoke offering.
“I am thrilled to be working with Michael Andrews to expand the brand by making its world-class handmade clothing accessible on a whole new level,” said Mr. Dean. “The Collection, at its foundation, is an expression of true luxury and elegance consistent with the company’s bespoke heritage – a reflection of what we think men should be wearing today.”
Founded in 2006, Michael Andrews offers bespoke tailoring that has developed a reputation among Wall Street men and Fortune 500 CEOs, as well as Hollywood actors, musicians and athletes.
