Michael Kors to be interviewed by Alina Cho for 'The Atelier' series

Michael Kors has been named the latest guest of The Atelier with Alina Cho, the Metropolitan Museum of Art interview series.

The Chairman and Chief Creative will discuss his life, career and special moments with veteran journalist Cho, such as advising his mother on her wedding dress at five years old, serving as a judge on Project Runway and building a fashion empire. Kors will share his signature wit and insight to explain the successes of his namesake company.

The Atelier with Alina Cho enters its third season this year. The series hosted by the CNN National Correspondent and Ballantine Bantam Dell Editor-at-Large has featured fashion designers and personalities such as Alber Elbaz, Diane von Furstenberg, Olivier Rousteing, Donatella Versace, Anna Wintour and Alexander Wang, who was interviewed in 2016.
 
Founded in 1981, Michael Kors offers luxury fashion and accessories under the Michael Kors and Michael Michael Kors labels. The company went public in 2011 and is currently in a bidding war with Coach over the Kate Spade label.
 
In addition to making great contributions to the fashion industry, the CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award winner launched the Watch Hunger Stop initiative with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), was named an Ambassador Against Hunger by the WFP and was selected by Time Magazine as one of the most influential people in 2013.
 
Cho will interview Kors for The Atelier at The Met on Wednesday, June 21.
