Montreal’s Fashion Museum is honouring the retailers, wholesale distributors and manufacturers that make up the city’s fashion industry in its new exhibition, opening May 5.

Baptized 'Established in Montréal - Actors of the fashion industry from 1845 until today', the exhibition will highlight the players of Montreal’s fashion industry who have contributed to its international recognition since 1845.

Both ancient and recent pieces from 33 companies will be on display, while the life stories and family histories of the people behind these companies will also be highlighted.

Featured retailers and brands will include ready-to-wear designers, footwear brands, cosmetic companies and jewelers including Ogilvy, Audvik, Aldo Group, Lise Watier, Ernest, Le Chateau, Joseph Ribkoff, M0851, and Pajar, to name a few.

A number of activities further highlighting the actors of Montreal’s fashion industry will equally be organized at the museum throughout the 2017, as Montreal celebrates its 375th anniversary.

Formerly the Musée du costume et du textile du Québec, Montreal’s Fashion Museum is located in Old Montreal. It is Quebec’s only museum dedicated to fashion and textile arts.
