Nike SF pop-up will look like a giant shoe box
Jul 19, 2016
Nike is bringing its latest shoe box pop-up shop, Golden Air, to SF to celebrate championship basketball in the Bay Area.
Nike's SNKRS pop-up is designed to look like a giant Nike basketball shoe box, a format Nike has used previously to declare brand presence in a key city.
Nike is calling the Golden Air box a "celebration of the USA basketball team's success as they descend on the city."
While the Golden State Warriors did not actually win the NBA Finals, they have made news lately with their acquisition of Kevin Durant, one of the game's most valuable players and a signature Nike athlete.
Footwear will be available for purchase in the pop-up, as well as other Nike services and giveaways. Styles likely available include Olympic Foamposite Ones, Ben Gordon Foamposite Pros, Tinker Alternate Air Jordan 7s and new Warriors colorways of the KD 9, further celebrating the big changes Nike will be cashing in on in basketball this year.
The Golden Air box is located at located at 6249 3rd Street in downtown San Francisco on the corner of Channel & 3rd Street.
The pop-up is open Saturday July 23 through Monday July 25. Reservations are encouraged to guarantee admission without a wait. Saturday is already sold out.
