Nylon Media acquires majority stake in Simply Stylist

Nylon Media Inc. is taking one step deeper in influencer marketing and has announced its acquisition of Simply Stylist, the premier fashion and beauty event and conference company linking influencers and brands.


The Simply acquisition will increase Nylon's digital reach to 45 million unique impressions and 140 million followers on social media. In addition to its formation of Nylon Studio and Nylon Productions, Nylon runs Socialyte, the influencer casting network.

Jamie Elden, President of Nylon and Chairman of Socialyte said, "The addition [of Simply] adds a layer to the business, which will enable us to connect and engage at a much deeper level with our consumers, brands and leading talent in the industry."

Founded in Los Angeles in 2012 through Simply Inc., Simply Stylist was created to improve collaboration between brands and their communities through social media. Simply Stylist runs events in LA, NY, Chicago and Dubai. It operates through a network of celebrity bloggers and in person experiences at global conferences.

Simply Stylist works both in the consumer and B2B spheres making it what Nylon is calling a 360-degree approach to its continued involvement in brand marketing.

Simply Stylist founder Sarah Boyd will continue to lead Simply Stylist which will be renamed "Simply".

Elden shed light on Nylon's future moves saying, "Nylon's place in reaching women 16-34 in unique, scalable and engaging ways has resulted in exponential growth over the past 18 months and we expect further acquisitions to continue to enhance both our client services and consumer experiences."

For the immediate future, Boyd will be tasked with leveraging Nylon's and Socialyte's networks to expand Simply's talent roster. She will also be adding more video content to Simply and expanding conference and brand partnerships. She will report to Elden.
