Outdoor Voices is set to open its first permanent retail locations in California in San Francisco and Los Angeles, with the first of the two opening in San Francisco at 555 Hayes Street, in Hayes Valley.

The San Francisco store, which opens on December 2, draws influence from the city’s local architecture and teahouses. The store features cabin-like fitting rooms, a central sky lit bench with a built-in water feature, and a wrapped projector screen with live-streamed footage of nature from National Parks, as well as locally sourced plants such as redwood slabs. In addition, the new store will offer exclusive OV Team t-shirts and totes in grey, slate and blue hues in reference to the foggy Bay Area sky.

One week after the opening of the San Francisco store, Outdoor Voices will open its Los Angeles store at 8425 Melrose. The shop, opening on December 9, features geological elements throughout the interior, including black-pebbled footpaths, neutral and jewel-toned materials and fitting rooms in bright, vintage Knoll fabrics. The store’s exterior also features cushioned benches and a shaded canvas awning for locals to meet and relax.

Outdoor Voices Los Angeles will also offer exclusive OV merchandise, such as long sleeve, short sleeve and cropped t-shirts, hats, and tote bags in pale and bold pink colors with muted grey and blue accents.

The activewear label will open its new stores four months after former J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler joined the company as Chairman of the board of directors.

Launching just three years ago, the Austin, TX-based activewear brand was previously an online-only label. Today, Outdoor Voices operates four retail locations in New York City, Austin, Dallas and Aspen.
