PVH joins coalition for advancing workplace diversity

PVH Corp's CEO and Chairman Emanuel Chirico announced he is leading the company to join the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, a coalition of 350 CEOs committed to advancing inclusion and diversity in the workplace.

By signing the agreement to join the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, Chirico has committed PVH Corp to cultivating a supportive workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected. PVH Corp will therefore aim to create an environment where associates are encouraged to have open and honest dialogues without consequences.

The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion coalition is a group of over 350 CEOs who share best practices and tangible learning opportunities in an online forum.

In a release, Chirico said, "Fostering an inclusive workplace is not only the right thing to do, it also makes business sense," citing a Forbes study which found that 85 percent of those surveyed said diversity is a key component to fostering innovation in the workplace.

Chirico added that by signing the pledge, he is continuing PVH Corp's "journey toward creating an inclusive environment where every individual is valued.”

According to an official release, PVH Corp's core corporate values are individuality, partnership, passion, integrity and accountability. Focusing on diversity and inclusion helps the company achieve those goals by cultivating fair talent, free from bias.

Tim Ryan, US chairman and senior partner of PwC, and chair of the steering committee for the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, said "This collaboration expands our reach and brings in unique values, actions and perspectives to continue to raise the bar for the entire business community."

The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion coalition spans 85 industries and contains member CEOs of companies doing business in all 50 US states. Apparel CEOs who have made the pledge for diversity and inclusion lead Levi's, Ralph Lauren Corporation, Under Armour and VF Corp.
