Patrik Nilsson, formerly at Adidas, to head Gant

In the coming months, Gant will welcome Patrik Nilsson as its new CEO. The current president of Adidas North America will reportedly begin at his new job on August 1, succeeding Dirk-Jan Stoppelenburg, head of the Swedish company since 2008.

The latter resigned in mid-March leaving Jose Luis Duran - chairman of Maus Frères International as well as the owner of Lacoste, Eagle and thereby Gant - to take over management in the interim.

Patrik Nilsson started at Adidas in 1991 as director of sales and marketing for the company’s branch in his native Sweden. Three years later, he took up a global marketing position, and in 2007 became president of Adidas North America.

Recently, he has been managing Reebok’s overseas development.
