Pendleton Woolen Mills, an American lifestyle brand based in Portland, Oregon, has partnered with the Trimera Group to build upon their existing apparel assortments, bringing to market new expanded categories under a licensing agreement for the Pendleton brand. These additional categories will allow the consumer to access the Pendleton brand in exciting and relevant ways.

“As a family-owned business, we have decades of history and brand equity to build upon,” said Pendleton president C. M. (Mort) Bishop III. “Trimera brings a deep respect for the Pendleton legacy and a keen sense of our potential. We’re looking forward to exciting the consumer in new and interesting ways.”

“Pendleton and Trimera have formed a powerful relationship that will connect Pendleton’s heritage with Trimera’s deep expertise in innovation and delivery of best-in-class products,” said David Howitt, founder and CEO of the Meriwether Group, a brand acceleration firm and trusted advisor, who guided the partnership. “This partnership will communicate the Pendleton heritage to new and emerging consumer groups while preserving and growing Pendleton’s celebrated American spirit, and commitment to its Northwest roots.”

“The Pendleton Woolen Mills label is synonymous with high quality, craftsmanship and authenticity; a brand that is relevant to a broad range of consumers, from surfers and skaters, to cowboys and fashionistas,” said Amit Tal, President of the Trimera Group. “It’s an honor to work with a respected company with such a rich history that will help extend the brand reach and product offering.”

The Pendleton Mill in Pendleton, Oregon, the company’s original mill, is one of the nation’s longest-operating mills, having first produced its famed Native American-inspired blankets in 1909. Later, Pendleton introduced apparel – men’s shirts in 1924, and women’s in 1949. Today the company’s product offering includes men’s and women’s apparel, blankets, accessories, home décor, gifts and furniture. Pendleton, a multi-channel retailer, operates 60 retail stores and a direct-to-consumer catalog and website. Pendleton has been featured on runways in Tokyo and Paris through relationships with upscale fashion brands, Opening Ceremony, Comme des Garçons and YSL. The company’s iconic patterns have also been featured on countless athletic apparel, footwear, and lifestyle brands, including Nike, adidas, Vans, Hurley and Levi’s.
