Public School appoints first ever brand President

Public School has had a very eventful week to say the least. The New York City-based brand announced a major appointment for the business a day before presenting its Fall 2016 collection.

On Monday, the brand announced that it has appointed Anthony Landereau as its first-ever President. Landereau heads to the CFDA award winning brand from Marc Jacobs International where he served as vice president of global sales for women’s accessories. He also worked at Polo Ralph Lauren, Kenzo and Saks Fifth Avenue.
 
“There’s a lot going on,” said Public School co-founder Maxwell Osbourne to the American media. “We’re spending a lot of time at DKNY and we need someone to take us in a new direction and make it a real business so we can be here forever. We know our strengths and weaknesses.”

The brand is predicted to make between $4 million and $5 million in annual sales, rising 30% per year. The womenswear segment of the brand has overtaken the men’s side of the business since its launch in the fall of 2014.
 
At Public School, Landereau will focus on expanding the brand in the US and globally. With the design duo focused on design for Public School and DKNY, the new President will focus on all business aspects of the brand.
