Quebec-based retailer Simons announced on Friday that it will carry in store Vejas Kruszewski’s fall-winter 2016 collection.
The 19-year-old Canadian designer behind the Vejas label recently rose to fame after winning the LVMH Prize for young fashion designers.
The LVMH Prize jury which was comprised of renowned fashion stars such as Nicolas Ghesquiere, Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld honored Kruszewski with this special prize because of his "exceptional talent, mature style and his independent spirit."
“Vejas Kruszewski has a talent that stands out, impresses and shakes up the fashion industry,” Simons CEO Peter Simons, says in a news statement. “Supporting Canadian designers is really important to us and we think our clients will appreciate the style and quality of the Vejas collection.”
The self-taught designer launched his label at New York Fashion Week last year, followed by a showing at Paris fashion week where Simons buyers first bought his collection. His collection is described as very wearable and is characterized by luxurious materials and a sculptural cut.
Simons was founded in Quebec by John Simons in 1840. It has retail locations across both Quebec and Ontario.
