Qurate announces four new executive appointments

Published
May 23, 2018

Englewood, Colorado-based media conglomerate Qurate Retail, Inc. announced on Tuesday the appointment of Jeff Yurcisin, Mary Campbell, Aidan O’Meara and Tom Bazzone to a range of executive positions within the company.

Jeff Yurcusin - Zulily

Amazon alum Jeff Yurcisin will step in as president of Qurate’s Seattle-based Zulily e-commerce platform, where he will work with his team to help develop a differentiated shopping experience.

He brings 13 years of experience at Amazon to his new position, having led a number of large businesses and helped launch a range of the online retail giant’s private-label brands across the men’s, women’s and children’s categories. Yurcisin also led Shopbop, a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of Amazon, to be one of leading fashion boutiques worldwide as the company’s CEO.

After over 20 years serving in a range of executive leadership positions at QVC, Inc. Mary Campbell has moved on from her role as chief interactive experience officer at parent company Qurate Retail Group to become chief merchandising and interactive officer. In this role, she will oversee the company’s product, platform and marketing development.

She will also lead a new team bringing together the QVC US buying teams and the Qurate interactive commerce experiences team, working to drive growth and innovation across all of Qurate’s brands, while also fostering integration and coordination between the company’s diverse product and platform teams.

Mary Campbell - QVC

Aidan O'Meara has been named president of Qurate Retail Group International, a role in which he will oversee the company’s operations outside of the US, namely in Japan, the UK and Ireland, Germany and Austria, Italy, and France, as well as in China where QVC operates a joint venture. He will also be tasked with exploring expansion opportunities in new markets alongside Darrell Caverns, president of the company’s new ventures division.

O’Meara comes to Qurate from VF Corp where he most recently served as group president, international, leading a global team of 12,000 members and overseeing a varied brand portfolio which included Lee, Wrangler, The North Face, Vans and Timberland. O’Meara spent a total of 25 years with VF and previously served as the company’s president for the Asia Pacific region, helping to establish China as the group’s second largest international market.

Elsewhere, Tom Bazzone has been appointed as president of Qurate’s home furnishings company Frontgate. He will be based in West Chester Township, Ohio and report to Cornerstone President Claire Spofford.

Bazzone joins Qurate from TMB Group, a retail consultancy firm he founded in 2011. Prior to this, he served in a variety of leadership roles at Arhaus Furniture, Michaels Stores, Restoration Hardware, RedEnvelope, Williams-Sonoma and Grossman's.

“We've built our businesses and customer loyalty by always staying a step ahead and giving customers a different experience – a third way to shop – beyond e-commerce and traditional bricks and mortar,” said Qurate President and CEO Mark George in a release.

“Jeff, Mary, Aidan and Tom are strong, pioneering leaders who will build on that legacy, helping us to define a new generation of shopping that combines commerce, content, and multi-platform engagement.”

Campbell and Bazzone’s appointments are effective immediately, while Yurcisin’s and O’Meara’s are effective August 15, 2018 and July 2, 2018, respectively.
