RYU opens underground community space

Vancouver-based athletic brand RYU Apparel Inc (Respect Your Universe) announced on Thursday the official opening of its community space in the basement of its 361 Queen Street West retail location in Toronto.

Dubbed “RYU Underground”, it will serve as a venue for the RYU community to meet and connect including for community workouts, functions relating to health and fitness and more.

RYU is following in the footsteps of other Canadian athletic brands such as Lululemon, who has previously inaugurated concept stores with community hubs.

Luluemon has inaugurated a number of concept stores dubbed “Locals” including in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Fort Collins, Colorado; Bend, Oregon and more.

Since launching in November 2015, RYU has hosted over 2,500 community events across all its retail locations.

RYU is a tailored technical training brand engineered for the fitness, training and performance of the multi-discipline athlete.
