“We had plans to open 80 stores by the end of 2017 and we reached our target and went ahead to launch 83 stores in total,” Rajiv Kumar Bobal, Modi-Mundipharma Beauty Products Private Limited’s director of sales and marketing told Images Retail Bureau. “Our new target is to reach 140 stores by the end of 2018.”

Revlon was the first global cosmetics brand to enter India in 1995 and the brand launched as a joint venture between Modi-Mundipharma Private Limited and Revlon USA.

The aim is to grow the brand in India through an increased number of retail outlets.

“As of now we are just planning to increase exclusive brand outlets and achieve 15 per cent growth and we hope to reach up to 20 per cent by 2018 end,” explained Bopal.

However, when the store opening targets are met, the brand will turn its focus to omni-channel retailing.

“Omnichannel is at the top of our minds,” said Bopal. “The priority for now is to open more EBOs, establish a regular store growth pattern. Once we do this, we will certainly come in tune with the world as far as omni-channel is concerned.”

Revlon has started to embrace an omni-channel approach in India and is currently available on several large e-commerce beauty platforms including Nykaa.
