For each pair purchased, Revo is donating $10—and up to a total of $10 million—to the campaign, with the funds going to the Brien Holden Vision Institute to provide eye care to those who can’t afford it around the world. The goal of the campaign is to prevent vision impairment and blindness in over 5 million people by 2020.

In a video for the campaign, Bono said “This is personal for me. I’ve been dealing with glaucoma for 20 years. The Brien Holden Vision Institute is leading the fight to end the kind of blindness and vision problems that can be prevented or cured. They now have an ally in Revo, and me.” He also explained that without medical treatment, he would be blind.

Revo, founded in 1985, is a global performance eyewear brand and leader in polarized lens technology. Revo sunglasses were first created using lens technology developed by NSA as solar protection for satellites. Revo continues to offer the most advanced high-contrast polarized eyewear in the world. Revo is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sequential Brands Group Inc.
