Shangying Global acquires Oneworld Star International for $280 Million

Shangying Global Co. announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Oneworld Star International for $280 million, simultaneously entering the US market. The purchase is effective as of October 10, 2016 and includes the companies Apparel Production Services, Unger Fabrik/Oneworld Apparel and Star Group.

Oneworld Star International is a leading global apparel manufacturer, designer, and merchandiser of fashion for missy, juniors and kids. Apparel Production Services, which was also acquired in the purchase, is a Chatsworth, California-based company with production facilities in Latin America. The company provides design and manufacturing for high-performance active apparel and sportswear for brands such as Under Armour.
 
Los Angeles-based Unger Fabrik/Oneworld Apparel produces on-trend fashion and designs and merchandises apparel under the brands One World, Weavers, RAD Clothing and Rules of Etiquette, and Star Group, which is jointly headquartered in Shanghai and Hong Kong, is a manufacturer and designer of apparel, with supply chain capabilities and a global distribution network.

Shangying’s acquisition created a platform with a market capitalization of $2.4 billion USD, which allows the company to become a significant player for further acquisitions.
