Canadian sneaker brand Six Hundred Four has launched a VR sneaker store that harmoniously merges VR and e-commerce.

The online store experience allows virtual visitors to stroll through the brand’s Vancouver flagship store, which is part gallery and part shoe store, and add items to their shopping cart.

Six Hundred Four offers limited edition shoes created off of commissioned art works, making the new virtual shopping experience a must for the brand in order to help customers shop better.

“You won’t find a brand like ours anywhere else in the world, so the concept is new to all of our visitors. In the store, we can enlighten you as we guide you around. Online, however, it hasn’t been so easy. With this virtual store, online visitors will gain much more insight into what we do. At least that's the hope,” explained Six Hundred Four founder James Lepp, in a news statement.

The brand officially opened its boutique at 101–123 Cambie Street in late December 2016. Dubbed the 'Sneaker Gallery', the store has a minimalist aesthetic showcasing a variety of sneaker styles, as well as art work.

Six Hundred Four partnered with Method Visual to create the VR sneaker store and has plans to continue to enhance its technology and potentially open other sneaker galleries.

“Our plan is to open up real galleries all over the world,” explained Lepp, “but depending on where VR goes, maybe it will be more virtual galleries instead of physical ones.”
