Stella McCartney unveils second Paris store, plans more key locations

Stella McCartney is accelerating her retail expansion with the opening of at least four new stores this year. Commencing with the inauguration of the British brand's new Paris store, which was first announced by FashionNetwork.com in February, Stella Mccartney has unveiled a new boutique in the French capital -- not far from her debut store in Galerie de Valois, at Palais-Royal, which she opened in 2009.

The British designer has opened a second Paris store on rue rue Saint-Honoré - Stella McCartney

Covering 180 square metres over two floors, the new retail space is now open at 231 rue Saint-Honoré, in the first quartier of the capital. The store houses exclusively Stella Mccartney's womenswear collections, while both the designer's men's and and womenswear lines remain available at the Palais-Royal store.

The London label, created in October 2001 via a co-enterprise partnership with Kering, is also stocked in Paris across several multi-brand retailers, as well as department stores Printemps, Galeries Lafayette and Le Bon Marché.

At rue Saint-Honoré, Stella McCartney presents her new store concept inspired by the designer's own personal and visual archives. Great attention has been given to eco-sustainability, the trademark of the brand, through the use of hand-made, organic and durable materials such as custom ceramic tiles, recovered wood and concrete.

On the brand's radar between now and mid-July is the opening a store in Florence in the Via Dei Tosinghi, while two stores are slated for the US: one in the emblematic commercial centre of the West Coat, the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California; the other in New York at number 929 Madison Avenue.

The new stores highlight a rapid retail expansion strategy for Stella McCartney, as illustrated by the take over of the brand's three Hong Kong stores and their retail operations last summer.

"The opening of these new stores in these four key locations is fundamental in accelerating the strength of our brands and enables our current and future customers to access the Stella McCartney brand," said CEO Frederick Lukoff.

With the new stores, Stella McCartney will have a network of 51 standalone stores at the end of July 2017.
