Supreme confirms Michael Jackson collection

Published
May 12, 2017

Just weeks after rumors began to swirl, Supreme confirms it will in fact be launching a special Michael Jackson collection. The cult brand confirmed the collection in an Instagram post.

Rumors first hit the fashion community when Instagram user @supreme_leaks_news shared photos of a Supreme hoodie printed with an image of Michael Jackson. Supreme’s official Instagram account finally gave credence to the rumor when it released an image from its Spring/Summer 2017 editorial with Grind magazine.

The image shows a male model wearing a red pants and white, short-sleeved shirt emblazoned with a red screen print of the music legend. Supreme attributed the image to South Korean photographer Hanna Moon.

The New York skateboarding brand hasn’t released any further information on the capsule collection or indicated when it will be available. Supreme is no stranger to using iconic figures in its designs, as previous collections have paid homage to the likes of Muhammad Ali and Kate Moss.

Supreme was founded in 1994 with the opening of its downtown Manhattan store. It currently has shops around the world including locations in Paris and Tokyo. Though rumors have also mounted of a Brooklyn opening, the brand has kept characteristically tight-lipped about its plans.
