Published

Talent!, the ongoing exhibition series, will kick off New York Textile Month on Thursday, September 1.

Talent!, the ongoing exhibition series part of New York Textile Month, begins on Thursday, September 1.

The series features graduate works from eight of the world’s leading art and design schools Parsons School of Design, Central Saint Martins, Kent State University, Royal College of Art, University of Massachusetts, Politecnico di Bari and Pratt Institute. Talent! is part of New York Textile Month and is the follow-up to Designhuis in Eindhoven and Milan, which has had three successful editions.

New York Textile Month is a month-long-city-wide, multiple-location festival designed to celebrate textile creativity and promote textile awareness. Parsons, Cooper Hewitt and Smithsonian Design Museum is launching the inaugural event with The New School Dean of Hybrid Studies Lidewij Edelkoort.

NYTM coincides with New York Fashion Week as well as the women’s market season that begins in New York City in the middle of September.

Talent! will be held open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Nolan Park on Governors’ Island. The exhibition series will remain through September 18.
