At the end of July, more than 837 exhibitors from 19 countries flocked to New York’s Javits Center for the summer 2018 edition of Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA, where they were joined by over 5,000 visitors.

From July 23 through 25, visitors browsed the latest trends in textiles, trims and colors, networked, and attended workshops and educational seminars.

“This summer, we offered an expanded array of exciting exhibitions and seminars for attendees. Our focus for the season was on the Art of Customization with our Spotlight, findings, trims and accessories,” said Show Director Jennifer Bacon in a release. “The show provided attendees with new knowledge on upcoming trends, the ever-evolving textile industry and new ways to expand their business.”

Subjects covered at the show’s Lenzing Fibers-run seminar series included microplastics, deconsumption, consumer patterns and sustainability, with discussions led by speakers from Sourcing Journal, the Pantone Color Institute and a range of global purchasing companies.

“Texworld USA consistently delivers an incredible show bringing the global textile and apparel companies to New York City. Our collaboration of the Lenzing Seminar Series supports exchange of new ideas around design, sourcing, and sustainability,” commented Tricia Carey, head of global business development at Lenzing Fibers.

Along with returning spaces and activations such as the Texworld Trend Showcase, Explore the Floor, and the Lenzing Fibers seminar series, this summer also saw the debut of Local Loft, a space on the show floor dedicated to local production facilities. Companies highlighted at this edition included AGH Trimsource, Suuchi Inc and Whispering Spirit Alpaca.

One-off events at this summer’s shows included an exclusive screening of environmental documentary Riverblue at Texworld USA, and a trim activation curated by Jana Platina Phipps, aka Trim Queen.

The next edition of Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing USA will take place at the Javits Center, New York, January 21 through 23,  2019.
