The Buckle February comp store sales down 5.3%

The Buckle, Inc. today announced its February sales results. Comp store net sales for stores open at least one year declined 5.3 percent from last year. Net sales increased 2 percent over last year from $62.8M to $64M.

According to the company's annual report, "A variety of factors affect comparable store sales results, including changes in fashion trends, changes in the Company's merchandise mix, calendar shifts of holiday periods, actions by competitors, weather conditions, and general economic conditions."

The Buckle will further comment on its February sales results in its fourth quarter earnings call taking place next week.

The Buckle is headquartered in Nebraska. It sells apparel, accessories, and footwear for young men and women. Denim is a large portion of its business. It also sells a private label, BKE. As of March 8, 2017, the company operates 465 stores in 44 states.

The Buckle will announce its fourth quarter and full 2017 fiscal year results in its earnings call on Friday, March 16th. Management will hold a conference call on that date to discuss results for the quarter.
