The TJX Companies on Tuesday announced that Jackwyn Nemerov has been elected to its Board of Directors.

Nemerov has spent 12 years at the Ralph Lauren Corporation most recently serving as President and Chief Operating Officer from November 2013 to her retirement in November 2015. She joined the company in 2004 and led the wholesale, retail, worldwide licensing, and international businesses as well as company operations like design, merchandising, marketing, sourcing, manufacturing, supply chain and e-commerce. Nemerov also served on the Ralph Lauren Board from 2007 to 2015.

Prior to Ralph Lauren, Nemerov worked 17 years at Jones Apparel Group serving as Divisional President and later President and COO from 1998 to 2002. At Jones Apparel Group, she oversaw the Jones New York, Jones New York Sport, licensed Lauren by Ralph Lauren, and Gloria Vanderbilt for Murjani Group businesses.

TJX recently reported better-than-expected quarterly comparable store sales and an increase in net sales by 6.9%. Due to a pension settlement charge and a loss on early extinguishment of debt from the previous year, net income fell to $549.79 million, or 83 cents per share, from $587.26 million, or 86 cents per share.

The TJX Companies is the leading off-price retailer that operates T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, and Sierra Trading Post stores.
