Todd Snyder opens first New York City flagship store

Todd Snyder on Tuesday officially opened the doors to its first New York City flagship store at Madison Square Park. The flagship was first announced in March 2016.

 
The 5,700-square-foot flagship store, which is located just steps away from the brand’s headquarters and studio, carries the full Todd Snyder apparel line and curated selections from partners including Champion, Timex, Mackintosh, Globe Trotter, Tricker’s and Alden. Todd Snyder also launched in store its new Made in USA Black Label and Made in Canada White Label suiting collections, and the new Selvedge Denim collection, including Japanese and American denim made in Los Angeles.
 
The Todd Snyder flagship also houses a Persons of Interest barbershop, a café/bar helmed by Nick Morgenstern of El Rey Coffee Bar & Luncheonette and a shop-in-shop offering Moscot and Aesop products.

James Mills partnered with Todd Snyder to design the new flagship store, which mixes homegrown elements with inspiration from Snyder’s time in Europe. The flagship façade features vintage brass door handles sourced in London from Anthony Outred Antiques, while in store, visitors will find collector-quality modern and midcentury furniture, custom flooring from LV Wood, vintage rugs from ABC Carpet & Home and lighting from Apparatus Studio.
 
"Every collection starts with inspiration from the worlds of art, architecture and design, made to fit the modern man and his lifestyle," says Snyder. "We created the New York store to embody that lifestyle down to the smallest detail, all hand selected from resources and vendors we love, many via our new partners at 1stdibs.”
 
With the help of 1stdibs, Todd Snyder will feature a rotating assortment of standout gifts, furniture, and art. British artist Luke Edward Hall, Burberry, and Liberty London created the opening visual installation; limited edition, signed and numbered prints that will be available exclusively in store.
 
Snyder added, “It's not just a clothing store – it's a great place to come for a seasonal wardrobe upgrade with a personal stylist, to get fitted for your next suit while enjoying an espresso or a beer, or to hang out with friends while getting a haircut and a shave."

In 2015, American Eagle Outfitters acquired Todd Snyder and Tailgate, his premium collegiate apparel line, and named Snyder the Executive Vice President of American Eagle Outfitters. The 2015 CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year nominee operates four Tailgate stores and previously operated a Todd Snyder + Champion store on Elizabeth Street in New York City.
