Trademark, the women’s contemporary brand by Louisa and Pookie Burch, announced on Monday that it will discontinue sportswear starting spring 2017 and shut down its New York City flagship store.
The American brand will remain in business and will focus on Trademark’s accessories category, which is the best performing category. The brand’s accessories range includes shoes, bags and jewelry that range in price from $48 for an emblem to $698 for the leather Sorrento bucket bag, leather Marcel shopper tote and oversized suede Andre travel tote. By focusing solely on accessories, the sisters will no longer be tied to the fashion calendar, which they hope will allow them to be more flexible.
In addition to the changing product offering, the Burch sisters will shut down the brand's 2,500-square-foot flagship store at Grand Street in order to focus on e-commerce.
Louisa and Pookie Burch, the daughters of Chris Burch, founded Trademark in 2013. The sisters launched e-commerce for Trademark in February 2014 and opened the brand’s flagship store in September that same year.
