NBA All-Star and True Religion Creative Director Russell Westbrook launched a new collection with the American denim brand. The TRxRW collection blends activewear and streetwear with young American style and takes cues from Westbrook’s personal style.
The 13-piece fall 2016 collection includes graphic and elongated t-shirts, thermal sweatshirts, destroyed sweaters, hoodies with side zippers, a varsity jacket and numerous ripped denim and biker jeans styles. The denim offering in the collection is available only in skinny options in various washes and distresses.
True Religion and Westbrook debuted the collection at a pop-up exhibit at the Nault Fine Art Gallery in Oklahoma City, the home of Westbrook’s NBA team the Oklahoma City Thunder. Fans of Westbrook and True Religion customers that visited the exhibit were greeted with five mannequins in a “V” formation wearing the collection. Inside, there were framed photos of Westbrook wearing the new collection and a small selection of the new offering.
In 2015, True Religion named Russell Westbrook its campaign creative director. The NBA All-Star appeared in the brand’s campaign that appeared on television, in print and digital among others.
The TRxRW collection is available exclusively on the True Religion app through October 5 and will launch in stores and online on October 6.
