VF Corp: the size of The North Face, Vans and Timberland

With three brands each accounting for two billion dollars of annual revenue, VF Corp owns major players in the outdoor and lifestyle industry. During a conference with financial analysts following the publication of the American company’s quarterly results, Steve Rendle, senior vice president of VF offered details regard the value of its three leading brands in relation to their respective sectors.

Timberland accounts for nearly 2 billion dollars in an outdoor lifestyle market that, according to Steve Rendle, is around 36 billion dollars - Timberland


"North Face at about 2.3 billion and we've come out and stated really operates in a market that's about 26 billion in total in that outdoor performance category," he said. “Vans is just over 2 billion pressing that mark last year action sports at 29 billion market has been then around that 7% range and Timberland approaching 2 billion at 1.8 in that outdoor lifestyle category we have somewhere around 36 billion.” 

But the Rendle also stressed that if one takes into account the influence of athletic, training, lifestyle and youth culture, each sector could actually make up about 70 billion dollars.
