The Vans US Open of Surfing carries on the nearly 60-year tradition of major competitive surfing at Huntington Beach and has evolved into one of the largest action sports festivals in the country. This year, Vans will introduce the Pro Skate Series, the first-ever skateboarding international championship series in park terrain competition.

“As Vans celebrates 50 ‘Off The Wall’ years of enabling creative expression, it’s important for our brand to continue to support the next generation of talented individuals through progressive platforms like the Vans US Open,” said Doug Palladini, Vans’ vice president/general manager for North America. “Vans is honored to carry on the legacy of the world-class events alongside IMG and WSL, while introducing the latest innovations in action sports, art and product design.”

The WSL, formerly the Association of Surfing Professionals, has been championing the world’s best surfing since 1976 with regional offices in Australasia, Africa, North America, South America, Hawaii, Japan and Europe. The Santa Monica-based League runs global events across the Samsung Galaxy Men’s and Women’s Championship Tours, the Big Wave Tour, Qualifying Series, Junior and Longboard Championships, and the WSL Big Wave Awards.

The US Open of Surfing will run from July 21 through July 31 and will also be webcast live around the world on July 25 on the official competition website.
