Vente-Privée : discreet 8% increase in sales in 2014
Mar 9, 2015
The French online private sales leader Vente-Privée generated 1.7 billion euros in sales in 2014 - an 8% increase, while it attained a 23% gain one year earlier. While the report has not been officially published, the site intends to focus its statements on new offers, which should continue to drive growth.
"The end of last year and the beginning of 2015 mark the beginning of significant expansion," co-founder Xavier Court nevertheless said in a recent interview with le Monde.
The slowdown in growth was preceded by a reshuffling of the company’s executive board. Organizational changes followed the departure of former CEO Hervé Parizot, whose responsibilities were taken over directly by the site’s key figure, Jacques-Antoine Granjon.
The site has 22 million subscribers throughout the world, including 15 million in France. It sees some 3.5 million visitors daily, including via its mobile app. The site recently announced 210 hires for le Pass, while also naming Nicolas Renouard head of Kooroo’s media range.
Le Pass was launched in 2013. It is intended to generate physical traffic in the stores of retail partners. Kooroo was created at the end of 2014. It aims to allow brands to test out new products during sales events conducted by Vente-Privée.
