Chaos, conflict and the claustrophobia of consumer culture were at the heart of this year’s Venice Biennale, which ironically has rarely seen an opening week more crammed with activations by fashion and luxury brands.

Few brands are as attached to the concept of craft as Tod’s whose creative collaboration, The Art of Craftmanship – A Project by Venetian Masters, opened with panache on Friday night.

Many labels don’t know which way to turn, forced to choose between the Venice Biennale, scheduled on April 17-19, and Milan Design Week, set to welcome 300,000 visitors on April 15-21.

The Italian house is presenting its inaugural exhibition at the Palazzo Reale in Milan, an exceptional exhibition showcasing its craftsmanship through over 220 haute couture creations.

Indian designer Manish Arora has launched his first ever solo exhibition in the US at Scad Fash in Atlanta, Georgia. The exhibition opened to the public on March 27 and chronicles his colourful journey in fashion.
