The recently-ended menswear tradeshow in Florence recorded a 2.8% drop in visitor numbers. A declined tempered by a stable attendance of foreign buyers and a very successful edition, said Pitti Uomo organisers.
Messe Düsseldorf announced that falling attendance has prompted it to give up the GDS shoe trade show. Igedo will acquire the show after the February edition and move it to Düsseldorf's Areal Böhler in late August.

The Italian menswear industry is expected to end 2016 with a 0.9% revenue growth, reaching nearly €9 billion, succeeding a growth rate of 1.4% in 2015. There is cautious optimism for 2017 after a weak start.
