COLORS: A recurrent problem for designers and consumers, a subject of predilection at Carlin, the office of color since 1958.
Colors may seem difficult to understand and to anticipate, and yet it’s one of the elements that permits consistency in style, marketing and communication of your brand.


Understanding the evolutions to anticipate the translations of tomorrow. Carlin offers you an exclusive extract of it’s analysis of the evolution of the darks since a decade:


  • The black with character: before the crises it shows itself as a character color in the peak of the baroque style and scenery.

 

  • The structured black: 2009, burst of the crises. The ways of thinking are reconsidered. To overcome the uncertain future, design puts itself in black: an enigmatic and distinct incarnation of an innovative future.

 

  • The mat black: Black evolves with the upcoming « design experts ». It becomes discreet and considers itself an exceptional shade. It absorbs light in order to create a charismatic result.


  • The emotional black: Black becomes sophisticated and plays with transparency. In home-decoration it becomes de key color to renew the natural trend in a delicate and mysterious way. It also finds new expression through shades. We than imagine black in a combination with other dark tones to express relief and emotional intensity.
