Dries Van Noten- Fashion Show Ready to Wear Spring-Summer 2016 in Paris (with interview)

A quartet of musicians performed in the middle of this huge hangar where the girls cat walked gracefully. Dries Van Noten delivers a moving and profound new collection. Perched on platform sandals made like sculptures, the models wear jackets and coats embellished with glittering embroidery also found on all other pieces, making everything gracious. He adds sequined crop tops and as if protecting the body the tulle transforms into both a dress and a light coat. The long gloves become a second skin, like a tattoo touch. Volumes play with femininity on baggy trousers and masculine jackets. Please note: very 40s hair, makeup and sunglasses. Sublime!Interview from: Dries Van NotenI really wanted to make everything in two-tone because normally it’s all multi-coloured so it's softer to combine. Then I really wanted to clash some elements. So I started playing with patterns, the patterns that are shown in the prints but also in the embroidery.I really played with a day vide, an evening vibe but also a night vibe so for women who get dressed up and go out to party in a night club, why not. The big coat is quite masculine, but it always has embellishments on it like big embroideries and also cut with little ruffles in fuchsia pink typically Schiaparelli. For the shoes we wanted to really create this idea that the women are wearing objects rather than shoes. Music of the show
