Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Collection Paris-Rome

The new collection of Chanel’s Métiers d’art showed in Rome, in the mythical place of the Cinecittà studios. A collection inspired by the French actresses and Italian cinema. After having seen the latest Karl Lagerfeld film with Kristen Stewart and Géraldine Chaplin on a giant screen, the guests were able to discover the decor created by the designer, of a Paris long ago, in black and white with its narrow streets and its populated bistros. The models with a smoky look exit line 5 of the Rome Metro Station. The silhouettes show off the entire technical prowess and all the expertise of the Métiers d’Arts, from featherers to embroiderers. Looks that combine the house’s favourite colours, black, beige, grey, and navy blue mixed with an ochre and orange palette for a Parisian elegance and an Italian glamour. We see the iconic tailoring hemmed in film roll, tweed dresses, midi skirts. The silk and the feathers adorn the dresses in painted patterns reminiscing Roman marble hotted up the little capes-jewellery.For the evening, the silhouette is ultra-feminine with embroidered tulle black lace underdresses and velvet pleated furs. Karl Lagerfeld surrounded by his gavroche boy’s band greets the audience sitting in terraces, a realism truer than nature. A pretty dive into the past, translated into a contemporary and romantic wardrobe. Once again, the surprise effect works, and in the current situation, we are happy to find the sweet life in Paris.Music from the show
