Cédric Charlier- WOMENSWEAR collection Autumn-Winter 2016/17 in Paris (with interview)

Location: Pavillon CambonInspiration: Cédric Charlier is inspired by old photographs of sailors to construct a new women's wardrobe around jackets & pea coats, baggy trousers, with a work on the knit Focus: the colours around the sailor theme (navy, red, yellow), collars and buttonholes of pea coats and dresses, the red and silver lurex, simple black dress in faux leather, turtleneck sweater with a shiny effect. To note:The new all rounded mini bag + first collaboration with Michel Vivien for the shoes + last Parisian collection for Cédric Charlier, who will be on the New York runway in June, to better fit demand and production.Interview from Cédric Charlier:I was inspired by old sailor photographs so I worked on the idea of a sailor girl and transposed her into an urban world with iconic codes. So, I put an accent on the coats, the pea coat, the duffle coat, the wax jackets, the sailor trousers mixed with knit. Then I wanted bring some shine into the collection through the lurex and the glitter. It’s an extremely feminine collection but at the same time it has male codes. There is a lot of knit as I really wanted to emphasize comfort and accessorize it with a new bag and new shoes with Michel Vivien.
