Guy Laroche- WOMENSWEAR collection Autumn-Winter 2016/17 in Paris (with interview)

Designer: Adam AndrascikLocation: Palais de Tokyo, ParisInspiration: Flemish painters, Hieronymous Bosch, Guy Laroche’s archives, artisanship & new embroideriesFocus: volumes with puffed sleeves, empire shirt+ The short aviator jacket+ Dress all rounded with golden embroidered flowers+ The high waist trousersNote: the soft palette of navy, charcoal, ivory tones with copper touchesInterview from Guy Laroche: I wanted to move away from what I felt was the fashion landscape and the past two or three seasons where there was this idea of layering and I really wanted to build a really solid, distinct silhouette by really focussing on a part of the Gut Laroche archive, so the early to mid 80’s and a lot of volume. The embroideries were sort of half-done half finished, like the idea of when people do wall paper prints and the idea that they will just fill in the one are to show you how it is going to look through out so that was really interesting for me.I wanted to try and find a new silhouette that didn’t look dated at the same time and didn’t look too referential.
