Georges Chakra - Fashion Show Haute Couture Autumn / Winter 2016/17 (with interview)

Location : Jardin des Tuileries Designer : Georges Chakra Inspiration : a sunny couture collection even whilst being presented in black and white.Silhouette: size highlighted by black velvet, graphic cuts, fringes and pleats for an experiment with chiaroscuro. To note: the feather motifs and the hand painted flames that hug the silhouettes of the voluptuous ball dresses. Sequined embroidery, of crystal, pearls, tulle and organza. And flower petals. Focus: on the ivory wedding dress, ignited with platinum, gold and pink. Interview with Georges Chakra: For this collection Winter 2016 /2017, there is quite a bit of softness, it creates a zen feel. With everything that is going on in the world I decided to go for softness, more Romanesque, with lots of attitude. You can see this throughout, especially in the hand painted things, the little embroidery of florets with organza and velvet petals. There are lots of flames, feather flames, organza flames, gauze flames. It’s subtle, it’s pretty, it’s always romantic, but it always affirms its personality, especially through the things that are embellished with black velvet, whether it be belts, gloves, shoes, even the black velvet dresses, it gives it a baroque feel. It’s hand painted, it’s abstract, there aren’t a lot of details, but I’ve played with the colours: strong pink that gives way to platinum silver and two tons of gold. That gives it a glamourous and romantic side too. Music from the fashion show/ not to be used beyond 7 days after the show
