Mugler - Women's Autumn-Winter 2017/18 collection in Paris (with interview)

Artistic Director : David KomaAmbiance : Natasha Poly opens the show for this theme based on stars, which are scattered throughout the collection with music by George MichaelCollection : very feminine and sensual. This time the trouser suit is feminized, even deconstructed with its curved jackets and XXL shoulders. Incidentally the shoulders, true emblems of the house are reinterpreted on all the pieces, the jumpers and tops with dresses. The stars, another symbol, become broches, embroidered, sprinkled with sequins. To note : the iridescent colours of the pleated dresses, all in lightnessKarolyn Murphy and Joan Smalls also part of the casting. Interview with David Koma :This season for me was very important to work on the silhouette especially working on the spiky shoulder and the hour glass silhouette to bring back the masculine tailoring with a very, very strong and beautiful silhouette, one of the starting points was the iconic Mugler star, I have always been fascinated with the shape of it and it’s a magical star, there’s a lot of handwork involved, a lot of beading, but in a very light and modern way and I love contrast, with combining the very sharp silhouette with something soft but with something as powerful and as beautiful as the tailoring.
