Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood - Women's Autumn-Winter 2017/18 collection in Paris (with interview)

Designer : Andreas KronthalerAmbiance : in the sublime rooms of the Intercontinental hotel, in the center of Paris, the guests sit in a circle, a collection referencing Austria’s history through the designer’s personal memories.Collection : everything in fluidity, in both a historic and romantic spirit. The 3 piece trouser suits are made supple, the coats become capes. The flower prints and the stripes bring lightness, a total look in knit on the long coats and jumpsuitsThe quilted effect on some jacketsTo note : always the idea of recycling, with a nod in the hair accessories+ Vivienne Westwood, very applauded, who also shows Interview with Andreas Kronthaler :I was looking at where I’m from and I started to look at this period of time and I got very engaged and involved and I found it extremely current and important and I thought I’m going to pay homage to where I’m from and to the roots. I found this fabric which was a curtain fabric from a very bourgeois Viennese house and I started to work with it and printed it on different on different things, and quilted it on silk and on lurex, I imagine the rooms where these clips used to hang at the time.Music from the show (only to be used in the context of the show, protected by the right to information.)
