LEONARD - Women's ready to wear show Spring/Summer 2018 in Paris (with interview)

Artistic Director: Christine Phung Atmosphere: The designer has a wish to travel to Polynesia, in Mo’orea, expressing through colours and prints, the sand, sea and lush nature. Collection: Leather sailor jackets for a nautical theme are carried out in original tones of yellow and pink. A masculine touch with some tailoring like the last example which is entirely embroidered with sequins. Very summery dresses get the upper hand with orchids as the background. Pyjama ensembles and kimono coats come to reinforce the idea of lightness. To note: the beautiful coloured swimsuits & the white tank top or t-short worn with a long fluid skirt. Interview from Christine Phung:It’s a summer’18 collection which was inspired by Polynesia, by Tahiti and by a nautical theme and so there’s a play on graphic nautical stripes which are mixed with Polynesian Orchids. In the House of Leonard we really work on flow, so all these fluid clothes, the big evening dresses that I wanted to break up with tailored jackets. So there’s this group of pieces that are inspired by a masculine wardrobe so a sailor jacket, men’s denim jackets, a men’s shirt and the sailor overalls. I really like the embroidered tuxedo, which is here, which in my eyes is the strongest piece in the show, it’s even the final look.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
