Chanel: Métiers d'Art show in Hamburg

After Paris last year, the new rendezvous is Hamburg, the hometown of Karl Lagerfeld, for an exceptional show in the Elbphilharmonie. A show which celebrates the exceptional savoir-faire of 11 ateliers, highlighting the value of feather work, embroidery, bootmakers, milliners…The designer was inspired by this port city in imagining a nautical themed collection, from accessories to caps, woolen legwarmers and bundle bags worn with total tweed looks. Jumpers in cable knit or with feathered stripes, embroidered sailor jackets, long officer coats, sailor trousers… Noting the range of lengths, from long jackets to short skirts, with others more flared. A check motif that echoes the port’s shipping containers, frilled detailing on the ends of trousers, tops that leave shoulders uncovered, asymmetric and graphic cuts that create a play on length. A wardrobe dominated by shades of blue, black, brown and cream.Present on the catwalk were Kaia Gerber, Baptiste Giabiconi and the young godson of Karl Lagerfeld, Hudson Kroenig. Sat front row were Lily-Rose Depp, Kristen Stewart and the actress Tilda Swinton. Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
