N°21 : Mens collection Autumn/Winter 2018/19 (with interview)

Designer: Alessando Dell’Acqua Inspiration: A Californian road tripCollection: A wardrobe based around essentials and basics for men, revisited with a mix of materials and a contrast of colours. Everything is in attitude and the way to wear it is through a roughly buttoned jumper and an upside down hood. Focus on: The cropped trousers, brightened up by striped bands on the sides, the enveloping checked coat, the lined parka, the creased shirts, printed with a photo of a motel sign. Plus the fine knitwear in geometric motifs. Interview of Alessandro Dell'Acqua: For me it’s a very important decision to start with the idea of California, as a lonely road, a sunny road but that's in the jacquard, in the knitwear, even in the shirt. The main idea is that the wardrobe stays very masculine, but the attitude is completely different because the shirt is very short, the pants are very short but also very large plus they’re light. The coat is also very light, there’s no lining inside, it’s been cut out. It’s all very light. It’s like a man who is not perfect. This buttoning isn't done up correctly, and the t-shirt is very strange, the mood is a lot younger now but strange like world today. I like this mood of a lonely moment, for me it’s very important.
