& Other Stories debuts beauty vending machine at Galeries Lafayette in Paris
As companies work hard to boost the in-store experience, H&M Group’s & Other Stories brand has launched a new vending machine experience in Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
The vending machine is part of its drive to “explore new ways to connect with people, inviting them into a world of wardrobe treasures and beauty products”.
The “tailor-made” experience takes the humble vending machine and “turns a seemingly forgotten space into a little hub that serves up fragrances and beauty products while telling the story of who they are,” we’re told.
“We felt very inspired by the idea of creating our own vending machine experience, turning it into a mini version of our stores. It has special features conveying several layers of our world. We hope that it will make people curious and inspire them to explore our stories,” said Head of Brand Design Ebba Kettner.
It’s positioned in the La Coupole building at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, alongside contemporary women’s fashion on the second floor, and will be filled with four of the brand’s most popular fragrances from its bath and body range. That means Perle de Coco, Punk Bouquet, Sicilian Sunrise and Arabesque Wood.
The product categories include hand soap at €7, mini hand cream at €5, eau de toilette at €30 and roll-on perfume at €15.
The project is a collaboration between & Other Stories and H&M's The Laboratory.
“We strive to constantly develop and challenge ourselves and there is always room for interesting new ideas and initiatives. With this pilot, we want to offer a great customer experience with convenience and local relevance by being present in customers’ everyday life,” said The laboratory head Anna Tillberg Pantzar. She added that “we test small and scale smart” once the company has learnt from the test process.
