The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has announced its 2019 AAFA American Image Awards honorees. Winners will be awarded at an official ceremony on April 15 at New York City's Plaza Hotel.
The AAFA selected Isaac Ash, CEO of United Legwear & Apparel Co., as its Person of the Year; American Eagle Outfitters as Retailer of the Year, Birkenstock as Company of the Year, Eileen Fisher as Designer of the Year, and Disney Princess x Ruthie Davis as Fashion Collaboration of the Year, among other awards.
Each winner was awarded for excellence of performance in their category, exhibiting characteristics like major brand growth, an awareness of market trends, a keen eye for collaboration, and overall leadership and influence in their corner of the fashion industry.
The Image Awards gala, conducted in partnership with The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), will act as an opportunity to honor the diverse category winners under one roof.
"For more than four decades, AAFA has brought together the industry's best to celebrate incredible honorees," said Rick Helfenbein, president and CEO of the American Apparel & Footwear Association.
"There is no other event like this, that showcases designers, brands, manufacturers, business leaders, and media personalities to celebrate fashion's future and throw a spotlight on those who are revolutionising the world's most influential business."
The AAFA American Image Awards will be officiated by model and actress Brook Shields.
