Agenda to replace New York show with Agenda Miami

Published
Sep 3, 2015

Agenda announced on Tuesday that it has decided to leave New York and move to the south for the winter. Replacing the New York show, which first debuted in 2009, it will launch Agenda Miami on January 18, 2016.

"Much like our move from San Diego to Long Beach, this move to Miami will be a key moment in the evolution in our east coast presence,” said Agenda founder Aaron Levant.

Levant expressed that Agenda has achieved great success when it holds a standalone show citing the Long Beach show. The tradeshow will be held at the Mana Wynwood gallery in the Wynwood Arts District in Miami. Wynwood has risen in popularity due to the annual Art Basel week that is held every December, and it is slowly gaining a reputation for being a fashion destination.

In an interview with Shop-Eat-Surf, Levant said in regards to plans for the east coast show, “We really want our East Coast show to be something comparable in scale, brand mix and energy to our West Coast show and I think the move to Miami will help us achieve that goal long term.

“We’re excited to step out of the stuffy convention center atmosphere and back to our roots in a non-traditional raw warehouse space. Everything will be reimagined for this new edition of Agenda, from the brand mix, to the look and feel of the show. Miami offers us the perfect backdrop to create fresh energy around our brands and the industry as a whole.”

With the move to Miami, Levant aims to attract the neglected Southeast market and buyers from the Caribbean, Puerto Rico and South America. He told Shop-Eat-Surf that Agenda EAST would be in Miami in January and in New York City in July.
