"We currently design dresses for women seeking sophisticated and classic eveningwear at affordable prices who shop primarily in the department store channel,” said Colleen Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of Alex Apparel, “Our two companies and cultures are very compatible and the addition of SL to the Alex family of brands will allow us to rapidly scale our businesses and develop new markets across the entire value-priced segment of social occasion eveningwear.  In addition, SL will enable us to further develop important sales channels, including e-commerce, specialty chains, and boutiques."

SL Fashion Group is a New York-based company that runs the design, sourcing, and distribution for the SL, JR Nites, and Ignite brands. Each of the three brands focus on department store distribution, specifically in Macy’s and Dillards.

Alex Apparel Group is a privately-owned brand, focused on designing and distributing women’s ready-to-wear and eveningwear. Alex Apparel Group has two in-house brands: Alex Evenings and Alex & Eve.

Mitchell Grabow, who currently acts as the President of SL Fashion Group, will transition into the role of Executive Vice President of Business Development for Alex Apparel.

Both companies will continue to offer their current lines.  "Alex and SL both focus on designing a classic aesthetic, but at non-competing price points," said Grabow.
