Alex Mill opens new store on New York City's Mercer Street

After relaunching in February 2019, the Alex Mill brand has opened a new brick-and-mortar store in New York, as its seasoned leadership team plans for further growth.
Stocked with the brand's newly launched spring collection, Alex Mill's latest store is located just blocks away from the brand's first brick-and-mortar store, located on Elizabeth Street in Nolita.
Originally launched in 2012 by Alex Drexler as a men's shirting brand, Alex Mill experienced a reinvention in February 2019, expanding into womenswear and adding former J.Crew designer, Somsack Sikhounmuong, as a new founding partner.
The Mercer store comes as the brand experiences new growth under its leadership team: both Alex Drexler and Sikhounmuong, as well as Mickey Drexler -- Alex's father, who is currently the chairman of Outdoor Voices, head of Drexler Ventures, and the former CEO and chairman of J.Crew Group, as well as the CEO of Gap Inc in the 90s.
"We're really happy with the early momentum around the reimagined Alex Mill since we launched last February," the junior Drexler said. "This store is one element of our expansion plan, and we're excited to keep growing and take Alex Mill to the next level."
"It's so important that people see, touch, and try on our clothes in person," added Sikhounmuong.
"So much of what we do is about the warmth of a wash, the way fabrics feel and how a color looks in new lights, the way it fits and how someone feels in something when they put it on. I learn something each time I talk with a customer."
Prior to the new store's opening, Alex Mill took its first steps toward brick-and-mortar expansion with the launch of a pop-up on Greene Street last June.
